Sakaki Shawl Kit (Pre-Order)

Product Description

Nature is sacred in the Shinto religion of Japan, and one of the most sacred of all kami (spirits) is the Sakaki tree. With its deep green leaves and smooth bark, the lovely Sakaki is common to forests throughout Japan, and is used in ceremony, as well as for building and everyday items.

Designed by Rosemary (Romi) Hill and featured in Vogue Knitting, Sakaki, the shawl, was designed as a simple and elegant tribute to the Japanese people's strength in the face of their devastating earthquake and tsunami.

There are two versions: one with leaf lace panel and one with no lace panel, but which includes beads. A combination of the two may also be worked.
