Asterope Shawl Kit (Pre-Order)

Product Description

Asterope was mother to Oinomaos, King of Pisa. In other stories, she was the wife of Oinomaos and mother of a daughter, Hippodaima, and three sons, Leucippus, Hippodamus, and Dysponteus, founder of Dyspontium. Asterope also lends her name to a genus of butterfly, native to Central and South America.

Designed by Rosemary Hill, Asterope is flowery and flighty as her butterfly self. An arrow of lace begins at the neck and transforms itself into a flower motif as it moves down the back to an open edging. The pattern itself is written as a shawlette fit for your inner nymph, with an option to re-size to a larger shawl.
